Material Health Assessment

Each of the ingredient materials in our Cradle to Cradle CertifiedCM flooring products is assessed for safety as part of the certification progress at a level of one hundred parts per million.

What does that mean? Every ingredient that represents at least 0.01% (one-hundredth of one percent) of the product is evaluated against 24 risk factors for human and environmental health to ensure only the most responsible materials are used in each certified product. The result? Extra assurance that the materials we use are as safe as possible for the world around us.

Cradle To Cradle Certified

Beyond an environmentally and socially responsible approach to product design, Cradle to Cradle CertifiedCM program is one of the world’s most rigorous product sustainability certifications.

A third-party certification administered by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, Cradle to Cradle is based on principles of continuous improvement and a framework for designing healthy and sustainable products. We use Cradle to Cradle® protocols to drive our design philosophy and our own product sustainability standards.

Recycling & Reclamation

Safe, healthy ingredient materials are just the beginning. What happens to our products at the end of their useful lives also matters. That’s why materials reclamation and recycling has long been a key consideration in the way we design and make our flooring. More than a smart way to ensure materials remain in a continuous cycle of use, creating products that can be recycled (and building the infrastructure to reclaim and recycle them) is critical to creating a new, circular economy – one in which valuable materials never become waste.
